A friend shared a tradition with me. Instead of new year’s resolutions, she chooses a word or theme for the upcoming year to embody. I’ve decided to do the same for 2021.
As some of you know, I have a very demanding career in marketing (which I am grateful for) but I’ve always been one to put work first. In 2020, work consumed me and I neglected many important aspects of my life. So, my word and intention of 2021 is 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴.
Holistic wellness in 8 different areas (as they all work together): physical, emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual, environmental, occupational, and financial. In these different pillars, I will focus on making baby steps to improve every day with flexibility and self-compassion in mind.
𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹: Gentle movement daily by either walking, cycling, hiking, or yoga. Improve nutrition and seek more weight-loss by sticking with the @2bmindset principles. Schedule all doctor appointments (dentist, general, OB/GYN, eye, dermatologist, etc). More rest and sleep.
𝗘𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹: Stress and anxiety management with acupuncture and therapy.
𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹: Read up. Express creativity with this blog. Learn video skills and continue learning Spanish.
𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹: Improve relationships. More quality time.
𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹: Meditation and practice being present.
𝗢𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹: Better work/life balance and counter-balance. Create vision for my future.
𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹: Marie Kondo my life. Finish home projects and make home a sanctuary.
𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹: Get back to saving, spending less, investing, and working toward FI/RE.
To keep me focused, my word of the year is on a bracelet from @myintent.
What’s your theme for 2021?
